Now if you got this far to this page, chances are you are looking for a low cost, effective, reliable solution to send out SMS, be it text, unicode, or logos and ringtones.
SMS Server 2.0 is one software that does just that. I built this software because just like you I was looking for a software that meets my needs of reliability, scaleability and cost. And believe you me, there is no similar SMS software product that can do everything that SMS Server 2.0 can do.
In fact, I am so confident of this that I am willing to give a full refund if you can find similar software with all these features at my kind of price within 6 months of your purchase.
SMS Server was primarily built because I needed the software. Also, it is at least USD$1000 cheaper than other competing products. This is because this is the only one of its kind software that is being sold over the Internet. Most GSM modem solutions are sold via traditional methods and this makes it easier to price their products higher. I did initially want to charge my product at a price of USD$2800 which is about the market price for competing products but this amount just won't fit into most credit card purchases. Also, most credit card companies consider any amount above $1500 as high risk transactions and will not allow that without some manual documentation.
Hence, this has forced me to lower the price of SMS Server considerably. In fact, you may say I am selling this at a loss. SMS Server represents 4,000 programming hours of work to develop and test.
And I believe it will be cheaper than any other commercial software out there because the companies who develop this have big marketing budgets and overheads. And they factor this into their software sale price.
And here are all the niche features for SMS Server you can benefit from using SMS Server:
- Sends out SMS of all types Be it Text, Flash SMS, Unicode, logos, group icons, ringtones, picture message, downloadable profiles, SMS Server supports them all. Few products support all these SMS message formats.
- Unmatched Scaleability
When I mention scaleability, I do not just mean scaling by adding more phones and putting in bigger machines and RAM. SMS Server allows you to add on more servers as you require to get the performance that you require. The SMS message queue that is used by the software can also be scaled up to SQL Server, Oracle or any other ODBC compliant database which can handle loads better. The software comes with a Access database SMS queue and has been tested with SQL Server. In fact detailed instructions are available to show how you can scale the system up to use SQL Server 2000. Get SMS Server, you don't have to worry if your SMS business grows, whether the software can be scaled to meet your needs.
- Open Architecture
If you are building a website or an application that just needs SMS as an added feature, chances are you will require some sort of API provided to do easy integration with your product. SMS Server 2.0 comes with a COM component which allows you to easily integrate SMS Server into whatever product you are building. COM is a building block technology inherent in many Windows Applications. Five or six lines of code is all you require to add to your applications to allow it to send SMS. It's as simple as that.
- Reliability
This is one feature that got me starting on the SMS Server product in the first place. Currently none of the products out there allow retry sending of SMS. I'm not sure why other software vendors never think about this but having built SMSXchange.com, I do forsee this as one of the most important features. SMS has a failure rate of 5% and the use of GSM modems or any GSM phone for that matter does increase the uncertainty of a SMS failing to send. This is because modems are at the end of the day analogue devices whose reliability depend on non-consistant factors like network strength, battery strength and inteference from other radio like transmitters.
- 2-Way Messaging
If you want to implement interactive SMS applications like SMS chat and SMS games, this feature is just what you need. Instead of simply just pushing out SMS, you can receive SMS and programmatically decide what to do with a user's SMS request.
- Email-to-SMS Messaging
Emails sent to a mailbox in certain format will be sent out as SMS by SMS Server. This allows even applications running on other platforms like Sun/Linux etc to send out SMS simply by knowing how to send out an email from those applications.
- Flexibility
No other SMS gateway product allow the flexibility of SMS Server. In some countries such as Malaysia and Hong Kong, telcos bar each other's customers from sending SMS to each other. SMS Server allows you to put in SIM cards from different telcos in each phone, and allow programmatic routing of SMS messages to which phone device based on say the destination handphone number.
And all this for a meer USD$1299. Now if you find this price expensive, I can tell you that this is a reasonable price to pay for our products. If you get a product out there most likely it will not fulfill all your needs. And if you do not like it you will have wasted your money and time integrating that product with your own systems. Most SMS gateway softwares out there do not even offer a trial and hence you have no idea what comes with the product. Buying a inadequate software may mean you will have to pay a programmer to start putting in those features which you will need and programming hours never come cheap. That will easily cost you more than USD$1299 for the work needed.
